Delicious Fall Snack

Fall being my favourite season, I love this delicious snack: homemade roasted pumpkin seeds.

I found the recipe on Passeportsante.net.

Soak the seeds in water for 1 hour. Rinse and spread on a baking sheet. Bake in oven for 40 minutes at 300F (150C). Shake the baking sheet often to prevent burning. (Recipe source: http://www.passeportsante.net/fr/Nutrition/EncyclopedieAliments/Fiche.aspx?doc=citrouille_nu)

Since I like mine salted, I add some salt before baking, when the seeds are still a bit wet, so it sticks!

You can eat the seeds whole, with the shells. Mmm mmm!

For this year’s Journées de la Culture (see also last year’s post), I went to the Centre des Métiers du Cuir, an art school specialized in leather works.

There, a student showed us how to stamp leather and tint it, to make a bracelet. The leather was already cut with a snap button attached. We could choose our stamping tools (I chose a round tool and a triangle tool to make a flower pattern). And then we could tint it with special water-based colouring.
